Conveyancing Learner Story: Margaret | Level 6 Diploma | MOL Learn

Thu 14 Mar 2024

Margaret Quarshie, dressed in graduation robes, poses for a picture with her family at the MOL graduation ceremony.

Margaret furthered her career by completing her Level 6 Diploma and provides some useful advice for anyone looking to do the same.

As a qualified lawyer with the government legal department, Margaret Quarshie wanted a deeper understanding of conveyancing law and practice, enabling her to deliver a more informed and better service to her clients.

And although she admits that balancing her studies, especially assessments and exam prep, alongside her full-time job was a challenge, it was all worth it to graduate in November.

“My proudest moment was passing all of the exams,” she said.

I’ve now got a better understanding of the process for conveyancing and an appreciation of accounting as well.

Now that she’s secured the Level 6 qualification, Margaret’s next goal is to become officially licensed by the Council for Licensed Conveyancers.

For anyone looking to follow in Margaret’s footsteps and further their career in conveyancing through the Level 6 course, she has some excellent advice.

“What I would say is make sure that when you're working, because it's a distance programme and you'll probably be working full time, make sure that you work consistently,” she said. “So bit by bit, don't leave it all to the last minute.

It’s good to read around with the recommended books as well, I think, in addition to the manual that MOL provide. And do lots of practise.
