Jordan: CIPD Level 7 Diploma in Strategic People Management

Tue 27 Jun 2023

Jordan is studying for a CIPD Level 7 Advanced Diploma in Strategic People Management and has successfully launched a brand new career in HR, landing a role as a People Advisor for The Perfume Shop.

He’s already passed his Level 5 Associate Diploma in People Management, and is currently studying the CIPD Level 7 Strategic People Management course.

Why Jordan chose the CIPD Level 7 Advanced Diploma

Jordan already had an established career within the leisure industry, but during COVID lockdown decided that he wanted something more from his job:

I’d worked in leisure my whole life and, coming out of the pandemic, it was a real focus for me to want to work in the HR profession and really help the employee experience and really make a difference in a business.

Jordan asked friends and colleagues for advice on training providers, who recommended he speak to us at MOL. From the initial phone call, he felt that the combination of the warm welcome, wealth of learning materials and, crucially, the great payment package, really made us stand out as a learning provider.

For Jordan, the delivery of the course was equally important, noting that it was vital to be able to work through the qualification at his own speed whilst still receiving all of the support that he needed:

When my working week was a bit quieter, I could utilise my time in the evening to work on my course.  Other weeks it may have been a lot busier in the office, but I wouldn’t have had that pressure to be online for every single lesson and every single webinar at specific times. It was really flexible and critical to my approach.

Putting CIPD level 7 learning into practice

Jordan has already been able to put his learning into practice in his new role, delving into areas such as reward, recruitment, employee engagement, and business strategy, to broaden his experience and understanding.

He’s also already using the things that he is starting to learn from his CIPD Level 7 qualification.

Level 7 is more related to high-level innovation and support on a company-wide scale. So, that is allowing me to really build strong relationships and trust with key stakeholders throughout the business.
