An MOL alumnus

After researching other training providers, Stephen chose MOL as he was unable to commit to a traditional 'night school' approach to learning due to his family commitments and general working lifestyle. Attending a monthly workshop meant that Stephen could fit in his studies around his existing commitments, and due to all the course materials being sent in advance, it meant Stephen was able study in busy working periods when he was away from home.


The Story

Having achieved a Level 3 Certificate in Human Resource Practice with MOL in 2010, and after completing his Level 7 Certificate in Human Resource Development, Stephen is now a Learning and Development Consultant for a large IT distribution company, striving towards his dream job of becoming a Learning and Development Manager.

Starting in sales before taking up a role in Learning and Development, Stephen’s organisation is growing rapidly. He said: “I have been able to use what I have learnt effectively - especially with regards to organisational development and talent management." 
Over the next 12 months Stephen is looking to progress into a Learning and Development Manager / Business Partner role by taking full advantage of his qualifications and putting his skills and experience to the test!

Stephen’s success can be attributed to being able to have flexible learning which fits around his family commitments and working life. His dedication and commitment to gaining both Level 3 and Level 7 HR qualifications has allowed him to pursue his dream role.

Meeting other HR professionals and sharing our experiences was a highlight of the course for me. The workshops were discussion-based and we were encouraged to share our knowledge across a variety of topics. This meant that I could bring up an 'issue' I was experiencing at work and get others' viewpoint in the sessions about how best to solve it. I wouldn't have been able to do this if the course was solely 'online'
