This week we’re attending CIPD’s Annual Conference and Exhibition. There’s lots going on during the two-day event so we’ve spoken to our HR Product Manager, Emily Allen, to get the low-down on her must-see-can’t-miss sessions:

Wednesday 9 November

The opening keynote with Robert Peston

With everything going on in the world and he UK today, the HR profession can’t afford to stand still or operate in a vacuum. Peston is a brilliant journalist with his finger on the pulse of economics, politics, and everything else. To hear him talk will set the context for the whole conference.

B3 Panel discussion: Leadership in a post pandemic world - what do we do now?

How we work has fundamentally changed since the pandemic. This session is a really good opportunity to step back and consider the changes made on the fly, and how we take a more considered approach to managing change in the future.

Thursday 10 November

D2 Masterclass: Re-designing your employee value proposition to get noticed

Anyone who’s tried recruiting recently knows we’re in a candidate driven market. It’s hard to recruit and retain good talent and employees’ expectations are changing. Take this masterclass to find out how to stand out in the recruitment market.

F1 Masterclass: Making a social impact through a people-focused ESG strategy

Most of us will admit we need to start thinking more about our organisation’s social impact. This shouldn’t just sit beside our people strategy, it should be an integral part of it. This session is a great starting point to get us thinking.

If you can’t make it to the Conference sessions, it’s still worth dropping in to the Exhibition (free passes are available here); as well as meeting us on stand J12 and hearing about our CIPD and other professional qualifications. You can also attend any CIPD presentations, visit the Insights Stage or join in with the round-table discussions at Big Question Live.
