Employee wellbeing is a top priority for businesses in every sector and it’s HR teams who make it happen.

HR leaders play a crucial role in building cultures where employees feel supported, valued and able to thrive. But an effective wellbeing strategy needs more than good intentions. It needs HR professionals with the right knowledge, tools and skills. That’s where CIPD qualifications come in.

HR and wellbeing

According to the CIPD’s Health and Wellbeing at Work 2023 report, 53% of organisations have a standalone wellbeing strategy, with larger organisations more likely to take a proactive approach to wellbeing than smaller ones.

From building inclusive policies to managing wellbeing initiatives, it’s your HR team who are expected to take the lead. But without the right training, many teams risk struggling to design or deliver initiatives that make a real impact.

The right qualifications

Studying for a CIPD qualification helps HR professionals gain the practical skills and strategic understanding they need to drive real change. From recent entry-level hires to your rising stars and future leaders, there’s a course to suit every member of your HR team:

  • CIPD Level 3 Foundation Certificate is ideal for people new to HR. It introduces the principles of wellbeing, engagement and people practice, giving learners the confidence and practical knowledge to immediately support their colleagues.

  • CIPD Level 5 Associate Diploma gives mid-level professionals the tools you need to succeed at a higher level, in areas like wellbeing, performance and employee relations. They’ll learn how to design initiatives that align with wider business goals and drive success in your business.

  • CIPD Level 7 Advanced Diploma is ideal for experienced practitioners looking to become a senior HR leader and influence policy at the top level. They’ll explore the broader context of wellbeing, including leadership, ethics and organisational behaviour, so they can shape your strategy from the top.

The benefits of a CIPD qualification go way beyond the knowledge gained. You can rest assured that your HR team are equipped to lead on the issues that matter, including wellbeing. With employee health, resilience and engagement now firmly on the business agenda, your organisation needs HR professionals who can create meaningful change. Because when wellbeing is a priority, everyone wins.
