The legal profession in the UK is divided into several areas each dealing with a different type of law. Those with a particular interest in property and land might consider a career in the conveyancing profession.

Conveyancing is a necessary process when either buying or selling property. Although the public can undertake this themselves, the majority will rely on a professional to see them through the process.  The role of a conveyancer then is to assist their client as they buy or sell their property or land and ensure legal obligations are met by all parties.

A conveyancing qualification from MOL is a pathway to specialise as a conveyancing practitioner. It offers the chance to start a career in this profession with further opportunities for personal progression.

The SQA Level 4 Diploma in Conveyancing Law and Practice will enable you to join the legal profession as a qualified conveyancing technician. A Conveyancing Technician deals with key aspects of the conveyancing process under the guidance of a senior team member. The Level 6 qualification provides opportunity for career progression, enabling you to become a Licensed Conveyancer. A Licensed Conveyancer has the authority to deal with all legal matters involved in the conveyancing process.

What qualifications or experience do I need to begin a career in conveyancing?

To start your Level 4 qualification in conveyancing with MOL you don’t need to hold any previous qualifications or experience in the legal profession, only requirement is a minimum of Level 2 in English and maths.
