Politics and #piggate

Perhaps this is why the voice of spokespeople in politics has grown quietly… quieter. The CIPR Advanced Level Certificate invites learners to look at PR’s role in an organisation, as well as media relations skills and communication theory.  It is the responsibility of the PR practitioner to get under the skin of an organisation, understanding its strengths and weaknesses, and the role of that organisation and its messaging in the wider marketplace… as well as the wider public zeitgeist.

Talent at Google – learning on the loo and so much more

‘Staff members (Googlers) will learn for themselves’, Thoma maintained, presenting two main priorities for him and his team: First, new members of staff (‘Newglers’) are fully supported through a six-month on-boarding programme, with an ‘eco-system’ of peer learners providing on-going learning support. The g2g programme (Googler to Googler) is about sharing that learning. This presents Stephan’s team with priority Number Two – ensure there is the technology to ensure people can learn and share their learning.

The importance of professional training in the PR industry

Our Foundation Award programme already provides a solid foundation of PR theory for learners who are new to the world of PR, or looking for a stepping stone to move up in their career. We will soon be offering Advanced Certificate and Diploma courses, suitable for experienced professionals who may be looking to formally certify their skills, expand their communications skillsets, and gain further credibility in the industry.

New qualification designed to boost economic growth

One of the benefits of the new MOL qualifications is the opportunity for learners to become a Chartered Manager, the ultimate recognition of the professional manager. And with research by CMI showing that Chartered Managers on average deliver £391,000 of value to their organisations, and that holding a professional qualification can lead to additional earnings of up to £81,000 over a career for individuals, the benefit to employers as well as individuals is significant.

Meet the Tutor – Clare Tranter

How and why did you get into teaching? I started in food retail and quickly realised I enjoyed managing a team, particularly learning and development activities, so moved to a global HR company where I completed my CIPD and became an L&D specialist.
