What is covered in the Level 2 Award in Introduction to Sale of Residential Property?
The Level 2 Award is made up of four units:
Unit 1: General Law, Health, Safety and Security in Relation to the Sale of Residential Property
In this unit, you’ll cover the general concepts of law relevant to a property professional – including the historical development of the law as well as current concepts, relevant statute and common law.
Unit 2: Customer Service within the Property Sector
Customer relations is of high importance in a business environment. You’ll learn the general principles of customer service, in the context of work done in the property sector. You will look at the importance of record keeping, particularly when dealing with complaints and dispute resolution.
Unit 3: Regulations Relating to Sale of Residential Property
As part of this unit, you’ll learn about the regulations imposed for those dealing with the sale of residential property, as well as the common law and statutory obligations to clients, applicants and buyers. You’ll also develop an understanding of the obligations regarding the sale and development of land, financial record keeping and sanctions for the breach of any regulations.
Unit 4: Practical Aspects Relating to Sale of Residential Property
You’ll form an understanding of the importance of the role an agent plays in the sales process, from taking instructions to releasing the keys on completion. You will also look at the principles of marketing and the types of agency arrangements.

The programme is open to all. You don’t need any previous qualifications and you don’t need to work in the property industry to enrol.
The qualification may be ideal for you if you:

There are four final exams which you’ll take at one of the Propertymark Qualifications designated venues.
When you’ve passed the four exams, you’ll gain a nationally recognised award qualification. You’ll also have the chance to enrol on our level 3 Technical Award in the Sale of Residential Property and will already have completed unit 1 of the level 3 qualification.
